What We Had

🫤 Canuck French Toast

What We Thought

On our way to Sparking Hill Resorts, we started off our day with a breakfast at De Dutch. I ordered the Canuck. The Canuck is a straightforward dish that combines DeBakon (a play on words, I assume, combining “Dutch” and “bacon”) with eggs, all served on Cobs French Bread. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, hitting the spot for bacon lovers. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it delivered on the promise of a satisfying breakfast staple. The eggs were cooked to perfection—neither too runny nor overdone. They complemented the bacon nicely.

While the Canuck didn’t break any culinary boundaries, it provided a comforting and familiar breakfast experience. Sometimes, simplicity is exactly what we need—a no-frills bacon and egg meal with a side of French toast.

The staff at De Dutch were friendly, and the cozy atmosphere made for a pleasant morning outing.

Sometimes the best meals are the ones that evoke nostalgia and warmth.
