Dear Ventures:

This week, Peter and I decided to try something different and ventured into one of Kelowna’s “hidden gems”—Baxters Bar and Grill. Originally established by Greg Adams, a former NHL player for the Vancouver Canucks, this cozy pub has been reimagined under the ownership of Ron Doig. Though small in size, Baxters delivers big on charm, with an inviting atmosphere and exceptional service that makes it feel like a second home.

The warm, welcoming vibe was perfect for what we had in mind—a chance to escape the usual hustle and carve out time to reconnect. Between sips of our drinks and bites of their delicious pub fare, Peter and I shared the highlights of our week—the big wins, the little joys, and even the challenges that made us stronger. These moments of reflection are something we’ve come to treasure in our relationship. They’re not just about catching up; they’re about truly hearing each other and celebrating the individual experiences that shape us.

Whether you’re there to catch a game on the big screens or simply to relax in good company, Baxters Bar and Grill creates a space where conversations flow as freely as the drinks. It’s not just a pub; it’s a place where connections deepen, laughter echoes, and memories are made.

Food for Thought:
Taking time to pause and share your thoughts, dreams, and daily highlights with your partner is a gift to your relationship. It’s in these quiet, or rather in this case LOUD intentional moments that love is nurtured and understanding grows. So, find your own “hidden gem” to slow down and truly connect—you might just discover something new about each other.

Until next time,
Joy & Peter

Love isn’t just about holding hands; it’s about holding hearts through the laughter, the silence, and everything in between.

What We Had

🥱 Pineapple Curry flavoured Wings

What We Thought

Although the wings were satisfactory in taste, they fell short of delivering the promised Pineapple and Curry flavours. Surprisingly, they leaned more towards a honey-glazed profile rather than the anticipated combination.  Peter’s drink seemed to have more curry than my wings did.

This disparity between the expected and actual flavours left us with a somewhat disappointing dining experience. Consistency in flavour delivery is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction with food products.

Despite this setback, I may return to explore other flavour options in the future.

😐 Lemon Pepper Flavoured Wings

What We Thought

The wings lacked flavour and were only average. They seemed to be missing seasoning, so we ended up adding our own salt and pepper to improve the taste. Although the breading was okay, the lack of seasoning made the dish less enjoyable overall.

😐 Long Island Cocktail

What We Thought

Nothing special here. It looks like a Long Island and it tastes like a Long Island should.
