In the film “Ghosted,” we meet Sadie (Ana de Armas), a loner who travels frequently for business and lives in a cold, deserted apartment. At a farmer’s market outside Washington, D.C., she meets Cole (Chris Evans), a farmer who refuses to give her a begonia because he fears it would die under her care. Despite their early disagreements, they end up embarking on a frenetic series of dates to uncover their differences: Sadie, the jet-setting art curator, and Cole, the rural guy living on his parent’s farm.

The film has sleek graphics and sophisticated action sequences.
Ana de Armas and Chris Evans are disarmingly appealing leads.
The idea of love blossoming among gunfire and blades adds fascination.

The script fails to make the most of the two protagonists’ chemistry.
The Spy storyline centred on the love tale feels contrived and lacks imagination.
The tempo is slow, and the humour falls flat.

“Ghosted” just doesn’t work. Despite its star power and studio funding, it fails to provide a pleasing balance of romance and action. While Evans and de Armas give their all, the poor storyline leaves them stuck in a forgettable film.  If you’re searching for a thrilling spy movie, you might want to avoid this one and check into other possibilities.
