Dear Ventures:

Peter and I moseyed on over to Montana’s BBQ and Bar this week, drawn in by the promise of hearty food and cowboy charm. The moment we stepped inside, it felt like we’d wandered into a rugged Western saloon—but with a modern, family-friendly twist. The air buzzed with energy from the big screens showing the latest games, yet there was a welcoming warmth that made it just as perfect for a casual date as it was for a family night out.

True to its roots, Montana’s doesn’t do anything halfway, especially when it comes to their portions. Even their “taster” sizes felt like a full-on feast! Peter dove into his meal with gusto, while I couldn’t help but admire how much thought went into every bite, from the rich, smoky flavors to the satisfying sides that rounded out the plate, it was an invitation to slow down and enjoy a taste of the Wild West together.

As we sat there, surrounded by the lively atmosphere and the irresistible aroma of BBQ, we found ourselves reflecting on how important it is to enjoy life’s little indulgences. Whether it’s a meal that leaves you delightfully full or an evening spent laughing over silly stories, moments like these remind us why we make time for each other in the first place.

Food for Thought:
Love, like a great meal, is all about balance—hearty servings of laughter, sides of kindness, and just the right touch of spice to keep things interesting. Take time to savor these moments with your partner, to share not just food but also your dreams, your gratitude, and your undivided attention.

So, if you find yourself at Montana’s BBQ and Bar, let it be more than just a meal. Let it be a celebration of connection, of flavor, and of the simple joys that make life sweeter.

Until next time,
Joy & Peter

What We Had

🥰 Rib and Wing Combo

What We Thought

During my recent visit to Montana’s BBQ and Bar, I opted for the Rib and Wing combo and chose the taster size plate—don’t be fooled, the portion is generous, easily comparable to a regular meal at many restaurants.

It was so hearty and plentiful that, despite a hearty appetite, I couldn’t finish it all. Montana’s is a place you’d want to arrive at with an empty stomach—the value is undeniable.

As for the wings, I requested them HOT, and Montana’s truly delivered; they pack a fiery punch that can stand toe-to-toe with any other establishment famed for their spicy wings. If you’re in search of a meal that will satisfy both your hunger and your craving for heat, Montana’s has got you covered. The fries and the Coleslaw salad…I loved.

🫤 Randsom Long Island

What We Thought

We both decided to indulge in their Randsom Long Island cocktail, enticed by the promise of a refreshing twist on a classic. The drink arrived, a vision of temptation, but with the first sip, I was taken aback by an overwhelming sweetness. The syrupy cascade seemed to mask any hint of the rum—if it was there at all—leaving me questioning the potency of the concoction.

The veil of sugar was so dense that the drink’s complexity was lost, and the characteristic edge of rum that I sought was nowhere to be found. This Randsom Long Island was a sweet-tooth’s delight but, for me, it was an over-sugared misstep that left the iconic spirit of the drink a mere whisper.

🥰 Lobster Steak Special

What We Thought

Peter had the Lobster Steak Special, I had a bit of it so i can review it and he gave me is thoughts about the dish too — This was a perfect surf and turf.

The succulent lobster, tender and rich, paired with the steak, which was flawlessly cooked to a juicy medium-rare, created a harmonious blend of sea and land. Every seasoning added to the depth of flavors, striking a delicate balance that danced upon the palate.

Thoughtfully provided sauces brought an additional layer of complexity, ensuring each forkful was as moist and flavourful as the last. It was a dining experience that set the bar incredibly high for future surf and turf meals.
